biography
I am originally from Romania and moved to the United States when I was 7 years old. I majored in psychology and minored in sociology in college and later earned my doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology in Phoenix, Arizona.
My professional background includes work in medical settings, community mental health, and private practice. I provide psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, couples, and groups. My services also include psychological assessment, consultation to primary care providers, stress management classes, and helping early-career physicians develop better rapport with their patients.
The types of problems I often help people with include: painful emotions such as anxiety, depression, guilt, shame, and anger; frustrations in important relationships; low self-esteem and negative body image; difficulty coping with stress and life changes; past trauma; serious illness; issues related to aging, death, and dying; and managing conflicting values and responsibilities.
